📖 Plain Language Guide

Government info is complicated. Here's what you really need to know:

💡What is it?

The Click Day for domestic workers and caregivers is a very short time window to request work permits for foreign home assistants. There are only 9,500 spots for all of Italy. It's for hiring people who help at home or assist elderly/sick people.

👤Who is it for?

This is for Italian families who want to legally hire a caregiver or housekeeper from abroad. You must prove family income above €27,000 per year. Not valid for occasional babysitters.

When?

Click Day opens on February 18, 2026 at 09:00 AM. Spots run out even faster than agriculture (5-10 minutes). After submission, wait 30-60 days for clearance from the police station.

🛠️How to do it?

You need the family's SPID and certification from a labor consultant verifying your income. Fill out the employment contract online, pay €16 revenue stamp and submit everything at exactly 09:00 on February 18. Have pay stubs or tax returns ready to upload.

⚠️Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • You CAN'T apply without consultant certification - get it done beforehand
  • Income is for the whole family household, not individual
  • Contract must specify exact weekly hours and duties
  • After Click Day, you must pay INPS contributions immediately
  • The caregiver must pass Italian A2 language test for the visa

Required Documents

  • 1Employer income > €27,000 (per household)
  • 2Professional certification (Consultant)
